Summer means many things to many different people, but for me it means moving from one shaded area to another like some sort of XP (the genetic disorder not the OS) afflicted Sam Fisher. With such perils awaiting me outside of the house, it is nice to know that I will have XBLA’s Summer of Arcade awaiting me in the relative safety of my curtain-drawn house.

Recently unveiled at E3, the five titles that could be saving you this summer have now got prices and release dates attached to them:

  • July 18: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, 1200 MS Points (£10.28/$15)
  • July 25: Wreckateer (Kinect), 800 MS Points (£6.86/$10)
  • August 1: Deadlight, 1200 MS Points (£10.28/$15)
  • August 8: Hybrid, 1200 MS Points (£10.28/$15)
  • August 15: Dust: An Elysian Tail, 1200 MS Points (£10.28/$15)

I have already expressed my intrigue at the incredible looking Deadlight, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD is one roll down the perilous hill of nostalgia that I will simply have to take. It is a wonderfully varied collection, and unlike previous years one only has to purchase three of the games to unlock the reward – a rather sizzling 400 points.

With just under a month to wait, there is little I can do quench your anticipatory thirst except provide you with the trailer and a promise that we here at Just Press Start will keep you updated on this year’s Summer of Arcade:
