If Spelunky means nothing to you then make your way over to the official site, and return to this news post next week when you finally manage to tear yourself away from it. A Roguelike platforming phenomenom that came to the PC back in 2009 courtesy of Mossmouth, Spelunky has set its sites on the gaming cavern that is XBLA.

According to Major Nelson’s latest ‘Content Coming Soon‘, the game will be plundering onto the service on the 4th of July. Boasting new content, higher-resolution art and both co-op and competitive multiplayer – I can’t wait to see how a platformer as close to perfection as Derek Yu‘s freeware first can reach even greater heights.

Priced at just 1200 MS points, I for one can’t wait to go spelunking once again – even if the term is an Americanism of good old British potholing.
