Indie developer Kisareth Studios releases definitive version of hit game
August 20, 2012 – Chronicles of a Dark Lord: Episode 1 Tides of Fate, the critically acclaimed old-school RPG from indie developer Kisareth Studios, has been revamped and relaunched for a new audience. Building on the success of previous versions, this new version features several key changes, and represents the original vision Kisareth Studios had for the game. Chief among the updates is a new theme song composed by accomplished alternative singer-songwriter Marielle Thomas.
The new version boasts a complete code overhaul, brand new artwork, several fixes, and the new theme song, “Day to Fall,” composed by Thomas, who also sings and plays for the Pittsburgh-based alternative rock band Runway.
Releasing worldwide for Windows platforms on August 31st, Chronicles of a Dark Lord: Episode 1 Tides of Fate will be distributed in digital copies on Gamersgate, Gamefly, Indievania, Indiecity, and Direct2Play. It can also be obtained directly on Kisareth Studio’s website at www.kisarethstudios.com.

This looks to be the next “big thing” when it comes to innovative RPGs. I can see you did a review of an earlier version, though I’m curious as to whether you’ll do a review of this definitive version or not?
I’d be most interested to see your thoughts of this definitive version, as it’ll impact my own decision on it. From what I’ve seen of the trailer, the game does look badass.
I wasn’t planning on doing a full review, but perhaps I could be persuaded into recording a Quick Time Event for it…
So far, I’m really impressed with the new sprites and the extra content (and I’ve really only JUST restarted the game), so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I’ll try to have something up on the site within a week.
