Recently, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs had a trailer released that very much reawakened my love of the genre, and now a currently in alpha indie game has given me a chance to scratch that horrifying itch.

Enola, as reversing the name may suggest, is about isolation. Having awoken upon a desolate island, you must uncover the truth about your foreboding surroundings, a serial killer and yourself. Combining exploration, puzzles and death traps within a dark and ominous atmosphere, Enola is looking remarkably promising even at this alpha stage. The Amnesia comparison seems rather apt, and I for one hope that it captures something different but in an equally compelling and affecting way.

The latest video they have released (which I have embedded below) should hopefully show you why I am so intrigued by this title – If you are similarly intrigued then you should take a look at their website,  download the demo that released earlier today and perhaps purchase the game in order to help fund its development.

The game’s possibly human protagonist may be suffering from amnesia, but we here at Just Press Start certainly won’t be forgetting about this title -and we will of course keep you updated on all things Enola.
